And we do train green horses...
:-)
Working with problem horses is a world apart from training
horses. Most horse trainers can't train problem horses. A problem horse
trainer has to understand more than just training methods. It takes a deep
understanding of psychology and of life, both equine and human. You, the
owner, determine what the horse's problem is. It is up to me to figure
out a way to both help the horse and help the owner.

What Makes Me Different Than Other Trainers?
Most trainers will not work with problem horses. They are
afraid of them, because their success rates at solving problems are low, and
they don't want to fail. That leaves owners trying to solve issues with
"fad" training methods.
I have studied under several now-famous trainers and
clinicians. But horses with problematic issues can't be fixed from reading books, watching
videos, or going to seminars. Those clinicians teach a logical sequence of
events that can address issues. They don't take into account individual
horses' learning methods or, more importantly, individual owners' abilities
and wants.
Honesty is inherent in everything I do, from how I
communicate with you and your horse to the tips and suggestions I give you
throughout the training process. I'm not here to train horses in quantity.
I'm here to help you have the greatest quality relationship with your
horse as possible.
If you are close enough to visit during training, you'll
find it very valuable if you are available to work with me and with your
horse to help solve problems during training. When you and your horse have
improved your communications, the successful training can stand the test of
time. If needed, I can video tape some of the techniques that work for your
horse so you can practice those after taking your horse home.
| "All birds, even those of the same
species, are not alike, and it is the same with animals and with human
beings. The reason is because each is placed here to be an independent
individuality and to rely upon itself." |
No two horses are alike, but some horses are further from
the norm. Special horses require special understandings of behavior and
learning and of life. These horses benefit from my experience...real
experience...with problem horses.
If you are ready to learn how to work with your
horse to achieve success,

Together, you and I will arrive at a result that will work
for you and your horse.

Some people choose certain bloodlines to keep in their
programs because of their pedigrees being famous or legendary. That has
nothing to do with my reasoning behind emphasizing King and Leo bloodlines
in my program.
Many people pick pets, such as dogs and cats, in their own
images. That is how it is with my choice of horses. King and Leo bloodlines
fit with me. In researching these bloodlines, I have found that these horses
are overachievers even when facing adversity. Their dispositions,
conformation, and abilities parallel my needs. They are athletic, hard
working, and very forgiving. They'll give until they can't give any more.
I'm not trying to preserve these bloodlines...I am
recreating these bloodlines.
